Those in the market for a Ford Ranger Sport may want to look at the Volkswagen Amarok Style, with the German brand offering the dual-cab ute with more equipment for less money.
The current-generation Amarok is the non-identical twin to the best-selling Ranger, with Volkswagen joining forces with Ford to co-develop commercial vehicles in recent years.
Buyers can pick up an Amarok Style TDI500 from as little as $66,990 – with Volkswagen offering free on-road costs until 31 March 2025 – while an Amarok Style TDI600 is available from $70,990 drive-away during the same period.
The Amarok Style comes with Matrix LED headlights, adaptive high-beam with cornering, puddle lamps, a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and 360-degree cameras.
However, it’s worth noting the above prices are for Model Year 2023 (MY23) vehicles, which may have been manufactured as early as 2022 or 2023. For those wanting an MY24 Amarok Style, prices are $69,740 and $73,740 drive-away respectively until the end of March.
All TDI500 models use a 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine making 154kW and 500Nm (hence the name), while TDI600 variants get a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine putting out 184kW and 600Nm.
For those wanting a petrol-powered ute, the Amarok Aventura TSI452 is powered by a 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 222kW and 452Nm, and is priced from $90,677 drive-away (based on a Sydney postcode), with an additional $3000 discount available before June.
The Amarok Aventura can also be optioned as a TSI600 variant with the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6, with all engines using a 10-speed automatic transmission with dual-range four-wheel drive.
Finance deals are available until 31 March, with the Amarok PanAmericana off-roader available on a 3.99 per cent comparison rate on a 10 per cent deposit – equating to repayments at $272 per week – with all terms, conditions, and disclaimers available on the Volkswagen Financial Services website for those interested.
The company says it now has a healthy supply of all Amarok models for the first time in 18 months.
