MG Motor Australia now offers a 10-year, 250,000km warranty across its entire range, surpassing previous industry leader - Mitsubishi.
Effective from August 1, MG's new warranty replaces its previous seven-year, unlimited-kilometre coverage. This comprehensive warranty applies to all MG vehicles, including combustion engines, electric vehicles (EVs), and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).
All MG models also come with a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre anti-perforation and paint warranty. However, for vehicles used commercially, the warranty is limited to seven years or 160,000km, whichever comes first.
MG's Chief Commercial Officer, Giles Belcher, emphasized that the new warranty aims to boost customer confidence in the brand. He highlighted the unmatched peace of mind and support the warranty offers.
Alongside the warranty extension, MG has reduced prices for the ZS EV and MG 4 models. While Mitsubishi also offers a 10-year warranty, it is limited to 200,000km and requires servicing within Mitsubishi's dealer network.
Historically, Hyundai was the first to offer a five-year warranty in 1999, followed by Kia's seven-year warranty in 2014. The trend towards longer warranties continues to evolve, with MG setting a new benchmark.
