The 2026 GWM Haval H7 is now on sale in Australia, with pricing starting from $45,990 driveaway under an introductory launch offer.

The new mid-size SUV range opens with the Haval H7 Lux Hybrid AWD and extends to the Vanta PHEV AWD at $53,990 driveaway.

Four variants are available from launch, split across Lux and Vanta grades with hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains.

All versions are all-wheel drive and use a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with electrification.

The hybrid produces up to 182kW and 670Nm, with claimed WLTP fuel consumption of 7.0L/100km.

The plug-in hybrid lifts combined output to 320kW and 670Nm, cuts the 0-100km/h claim to 4.9 seconds, and uses a 33.7kWh lithium iron phosphate battery.

GWM lists a WLTP electric driving range of up to 137km for the PHEV, with combined WLTP range of up to 844km and claimed fuel consumption of 0.9L/100km.

The PHEV also supports DC fast charging from 30 to 80 per cent in 19 minutes and has a maximum Vehicle-to-Load output of 6kW.

For context, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 XSE Plug-in Hybrid AWD lists 227kW, a 144km NEDC electric range and the same 1500kg braked towing capacity, although its range figure is measured on a different test cycle.

The H7 measures 4800mm long, 1950mm wide and 1843mm tall, with a 2738mm wheelbase.

Luggage capacity is listed at 586 litres with the rear seats in use and 1404 litres with them folded.

Both powertrains have a 580mm wading depth, rear locking differential, launch control and eight drive modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, 4WD, Snow, Sand, Mud and Towing.

The H7 joins the H6 and H6GT in GWM’s local Haval SUV line-up.
