The new Haval H7 has begun arriving at Australian GWM dealerships, with two further medium SUV models confirmed as the brand targets a top-five national sales position by the end of 2027.

The additions will expand GWM’s medium SUV portfolio to five models, with the Jolion Max and a separate battery-electric SUV joining the H7, H6 and H6GT.

The H7’s dealership arrival follows its first Australian shipments, and GWM expects demand for the new model to support sales volumes comparable with the H6.

Featuring GWM’s Hi4 technology, the H7 is central to the company’s ambition to reach the top three brands in Australia’s medium SUV segment.

GWM’s H6, H6GT and outgoing H7 have averaged a combined 1300 sales per month this year.
The company identifies approximately 2300 monthly sales as the benchmark for a top-three brand position in the segment, based on VFACTS data.

That leaves a gap of roughly 1000 vehicles a month between its current average and that benchmark.

John Kett, Chief Operating Officer of GWM Australia, confirmed the next two additions will arrive in early 2027.

“First is the Jolion Max, which will land in early 2027 with BEV and Hi4 PHEV powertrains,” Kett said.

“Further to that, a new BEV-powered medium SUV product will be revealed during Q4 2026, ready for a Q1 2027 launch.”

The expansion will give GWM petrol, conventional hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery-electric options across its medium SUV range.

The plug-in hybrid competition includes the 2026 Toyota RAV4 XSE Plug-in Hybrid AWD, which has a combined system output of 227kW and a claimed electric driving range of 144km on the NEDC test cycle.

GWM’s broader expansion also includes the Cannon Hi4-T dual-cab ute and a new 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine for the larger Cannon Alpha.

National VFACTS figures put GWM’s year-to-date sales at 44,959 vehicles, placing it seventh overall.
Sales are up 14.3 per cent compared with the same period last year, with top-six monthly finishes in August and September.

GWM expects to exceed 60,000 Australian sales this year, ahead of its push for a top-five finish by the end of 2027.
