Nissan Australia has detailed more of the all-new Y63 Patrol, confirming increased passenger space, more cargo capacity and a higher towing figure ahead of first customer deliveries in the first quarter of 2027.

The new Patrol will offer a braked towing capacity of up to 3700kg across the range, up 200kg on the outgoing Y62 Patrol.

Cargo capacity rises to 577 litres behind the third row, 1594 litres with the third row folded, and up to 2749 litres with both the second and third rows folded.

Those figures are increases of 110 litres, 181 litres and 127 litres respectively over the outgoing model.

The extra detail follows earlier Australian information for the Y63 Patrol range, with Nissan continuing to position the Patrol as its flagship large SUV.

Nissan Oceania Managing Director Steve Milette said the improvements go beyond the Patrol's exterior design and powertrain.

Space, cargo and towing changes

Front-row occupants get a new Zero Gravity seat structure using high-damping foam designed to reduce uncomfortable vibrations over rough and corrugated roads.

All grades gain improvements to hip room, shoulder room and legroom, while the driver eyeline is higher than before.

Seat massage is available for the driver on Ti-L+ and for both the driver and front passenger on Ti-L Reserve.

Second-row passengers also get the Zero Gravity seat structure, along with a new seat slide function.

With the second-row seat slide in its rearmost position, Nissan lists up to 250mm more leg space than in the outgoing Y62 Patrol.

Third-row access is aided by a smart tilt and glide second-row seat function, replacing the previous mechanical tumble-seat arrangement.

Nissan says the function can make access easier even when a child seat is fitted in the second row.

A wider sidestep is fitted on all grades to provide more foot space when entering and exiting the third row.

Third-row passengers gain 75mm of hip room, 66mm of knee room, up to 253mm of legroom when the second row is moved to its forward-most position, and 84mm more heel gap for outboard occupants.

The third row also uses a flatter floor than the Y62 Patrol.

On Ti-L Reserve, quilting extends to the upper section of the third-row seat.

Nissan says engineers worked to create a near-flat cargo floor when the second and third rows are folded.

PRO-4X and Ti-L Reserve grades add adaptive air suspension, allowing the vehicle to be lowered to improve access to the cargo area.

All grades include Trailer Blind Spot Warning and Trailer Sway Control.

PRO-4X and Ti-L Reserve grades also include Trailer Docking Support and an electric trailer brake controller as standard.

Trailer Docking Support helps the driver align the tow bar with the trailer coupling.

Nissan will offer a range of tow tongue and tow ball configurations as at-cost accessories, including a configuration supporting the full 3700kg braked towing capacity.

The towing figure is based on the fitment of a Genuine Nissan towbar and remains subject to towbar and towball capacity, laden vehicle mass, driving conditions, accessories and towing equipment limits.

Cargo volume is measured using the U.S.
SAE method, and final Australian production specifications may vary by grade.
