Polestar has detailed Australian pricing and specifications for the new 2027 Polestar 4 SUV, which starts from $73,900 before on-road costs.

The new body style joins the Polestar 4 Coupé in the brand’s line-up, following earlier confirmation of the more practical Polestar 4 SUV variant.

First customer deliveries are planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, with production already underway in Busan, South Korea.

The Polestar 4 SUV uses the same SEA architecture as the Polestar 4 Coupé but adopts a straighter roofline, a more upright tailgate and standard full-length roof rails.

Polestar says the roof rails support a 100kg dynamic roof load.

Luggage space is listed at 530 litres to the rear seatbacks, 655 litres to the inner roof, and 1665 litres with the 60:40 split rear seatbacks folded.

Including front and rear storage areas, total storage capacity is 1680 litres.

The SUV also gains a rear window and a conventional rear-view mirror as standard, while the digital rear-view mirror offered on the Coupé remains available as an option.

Rear-seat headroom increases by 2.5cm compared with the Polestar 4 Coupé, and a larger panoramic glass roof is standard.

An electrochromic glass roof is optional, allowing occupants to switch between transparent, tinted or selectively shaded sections through the centre display.

Two drivetrains are available from launch.

The Rear motor variant produces 200kW and 343Nm, has a claimed 0-100km/h time of 7.3 seconds and offers up to 630km of WLTP range.

The Dual motor all-wheel-drive variant produces 400kW and 686Nm, cuts the 0-100km/h claim to 3.9 seconds and offers up to 600km of WLTP range.

A 100kWh battery is standard across the range, with DC charging supported at up to 200kW.

A 22kW AC charging upgrade is available as a $900 option.

Vehicle-to-Load and Camping mode are planned for all Polestar 4 vehicles through a future software update.

The V2L system is designed to deliver up to 3.3kW through a certified charging adapter sold separately, allowing the battery to power external devices until a pre-set minimum charge level is reached.

Google Gemini is also being added to the Polestar 4’s Google built-in infotainment system, replacing more conventional command-based voice control with context-aware voice interactions.

The chassis specification is shared with the recently updated Polestar 4 Coupé, with Polestar saying the SUV has been tuned for everyday comfort, long-distance refinement and driver response.

The Performance pack is available on Dual motor variants with the Plus pack, adding recalibrated ZF active dampers, Brembo brakes, 22-inch wheels and Pirelli P Zero performance tyres.

Polestar lists cradle-to-gate carbon footprint figures of 20.2 tonnes of CO2e for Rear motor versions and 21.1 tonnes of CO2e for the Dual motor variant.
