Chery Australia has detailed further specifications for the Stockman ute, confirming a 350kW and 800Nm diesel plug-in hybrid powertrain ahead of customer deliveries beginning on 1 February 2027.

The latest detail follows earlier CarSauce coverage of the Stockman diesel plug-in hybrid ute, which marked Chery Australia’s move into the local dual-cab ute segment.

The Stockman will use a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel Super Hybrid powertrain with a 34kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and all-wheel drive.

Chery lists electric driving range at up to 96km on the WLTP cycle.

Towing capacity is rated at 3495kg braked and 750kg unbraked.

For off-road use, the Stockman will be fitted with front, centre and rear differential locks, all-terrain tyres and more than 247mm of ground clearance.

Suspension is a double-wishbone front and leaf-spring rear arrangement.

The ute measures 5450mm long, 2010mm wide and 1890mm tall, with a 3250mm wheelbase.

Its cargo tub measures 1560mm long, 1560mm wide and 500mm high.

Inside, the Stockman will feature a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen and 14-speaker audio system.

A suite of advanced driver assistance systems will also be offered, though individual safety features have not been detailed.

Against electrified ute rivals, the Stockman’s 350kW output matches the 2027 BYD Shark 6 Performance and sits above the 300kW listed for the 2026 GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV.

The 2027 JAC Hunter PHEV is listed with 360kW and 1010Nm.

The Stockman’s 800Nm torque figure sits between the 700Nm 2027 BYD Shark 6 Performance and the 1010Nm 2027 JAC Hunter PHEV, while the 2026 GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV is listed at 750Nm.

All three of those rival electrified utes are listed with a 3500kg braked towing capacity, which is 5kg above the Stockman’s 3495kg rating.

Chery’s confirmed electric driving range also places the Stockman between the 80km listed for the 2027 BYD Shark 6 Performance and the 100km NEDC figure listed for the 2027 JAC Hunter PHEV.

The 2026 GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV is listed with a 115km NEDC electric driving range.

The Stockman will arrive as Chery Australia’s entry into the ute market, with customer deliveries scheduled to start on 1 February 2027.
